The job market on UX design grew significantly over last years as companies are beginning to understand the power of differentiating their products by focusing on users and creating better experiences. Within this thesis, the student will have to cover the entire UX landscape:

  • theory, research, analysis, design and prototyping, to understand why UX design is so important today for the business;

  • the usability research & benchmark process;

  • UX design principles and other related topics in order to come out with an innovative solution that will disrupt one of our core business product


  • Critical thinking with and open minded, to be passionate for creating experiences in online environments, good Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop / Sketch skills, solid understanding of layout, typography, color and other design principles;

  • Basic knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3, JavaScript and Bootstrap or equivalent frameworks, clean sense of design aesthetics;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with natural propensity towards simplification over complication;

  • Ability to rapidly sketch ideas in words, through graphics, on a whiteboard, or programmatically;

  • Show empathy towards users, management, and teammates;

  • Have strong team orientation and be open to critiques.


The student will have the occasion to be mentored by a user experience designer that will give him the same advice and share the same techniques that he is using in his daily activities, will improve his knowledge of web designing, visual design and persuasive design techniques, will be able to recognise common user-interface patterns, will improve communication and collaborative skills and discover what does it mean to work in a real work environment, with real products for the final customers of one of the most important European Bank.
